Pregnant Woman Holding Stomach

You Are the Genetic Engineer For Your Child

The human mind is a very powerful tool. Your thoughts can be your worst enemy or best ally. While you are reading and interpreting the world during pregnancy, you are simultaneously programming your baby. Each of your thoughts creates a hormonal cascade and emotional waterfall that affects your growing child. It is possible to create an experience of love and harmony within your womb even if your life is not going smoothly. The perception of your environment and how you react to it is what matters. You can consciously design what type of child you are creating during this sacred period of growth by choosing better thoughts and mental projections.

Your mind is like a movie theatre and your life is the soundtrack to that screenplay. If a horror film plays a couple of times during pregnancy, your child has the resilience to handle this. If this film is on repeat the tragic outcome is a child who comes out prepared to survive in whatever type of movie he or she experienced while living in the womb. My goal is to teach you how to play mental movies based on love, belonging and harmony so that we can create higher vibrational humans. It is time clear your generational programming, take back your power and get in control of the way you perceive your world in order to create a child that can change this planet. Whatever you broadcast to your baby creates the chemistry of the blood. You are the genetic engineer for your child. What type of individual do you want to birth?

Every mother yearns to create an environment for their child to thrive, which is safe and stable. What every mother does not understand is that this inner stability should optimally start before conception and continue throughout pregnancy. Your perceptions of the world around you in the time before conception and during pregnancy will create the basic foundations of your child’s personality and characteristics. The only way the fetus interprets the world is through the references of the mother. These are based on her mental projections and belief systems, which are predominately made up of subconscious programming from her mother and childhood.

The Subconscious Mind

There are many facets to our minds, but the two divisions I will discuss here are the conscious and subconscious levels. The conscious mind is controlled by Spirit, it is our true identity and is full of expansion, connection and creativity. The subconscious is more like a garbage dump made up of memories from our childhood. Bruce Lipton referred to the subconscious as video tapes of our life that we recorded up until the age of seven, even if they were good or bad events . The subconscious is our reactive mind that moves from instinct. When it starts getting full, it will unload into the unconscious. This then unloads to the conscious, which is your waking world.

When this happens, you suffer nightmares daily. The subconscious mind holds all your memories, events, patterns, and beliefs that you may not even be aware exist. When these are not released, they will overflow to other parts of our life creating neurosis, obsessions, depression, or negativity. When you are so full and heavy, you can’t help but repeat the same mistakes, thought patterns, or language throughout your life. This is why releasing negative thoughts, generational patterns and belief systems is so important. It is also the reason you should start a meditation practice. If you don’t know where to start there are many Kundalini Meditations as taught by Yogi Bhajan specific to pregnancy and motherhood available in my first book Mystical Motherhood. These meditations will help you clear programming from your childhood so that you don’t pass this on to your children.

Ninety-five percent of the time you are being controlled by the subconscious programming you received from your parents or the equivalent. The largest portion of this programming was done in utero. As a mother you can clear hundreds, and even thousands, of years of history by approaching motherhood with a higher level of consciousness. Until you realize that you are repeating the same patterns passed down from one generation to the next you will be living like a zombie, or a character in a movie, playing a pre-determined role. It is time to wake up. When we fail at something, such as giving up sugar or losing weight, we tend to blame some outside source for our own self-destruction. As a society, we are completely unaware that our subconscious is running our lives and that the majority of these programs are disempowering, self-sabotaging and negative.

Humans can choose to react or not to outside stimuli We also have the power to change old programmed responses at any time we desire once we begin to deal with the subconscious mind (which can be done via meditation, healing modalities, self-reflection or hermetic schools). Let me give you a basic example of this. My grandmother is terrified of cats. Likely at some point in her life she experienced something negative around these animals, yet she cannot remember when or why. As far as she knows, she has never been physically hurt by the animal and there is not logical reason for this fear. It is just her belief about cats that make them scary. This same example goes for snakes or spiders or anything else in your life that triggers you (such as family or friends). If you are uncomfortable around these creatures you could make the conscious decision to change and just accept them as they are. It is only your belief that they are frightening which makes them so.

As a mother, you can consider yourself a genetic engineer as you create the physiology of the baby to match your vision of the world. The only way the fetus knows what is going on is through the experience in your womb. Your level of consciousness is the child’s only reference point. If you understand that most of your references are based on belief systems and thoughts from your subconscious mind, which is based in the past, you can take your power back and begin to clear yourself. The majority of your thoughts are not original. They are also not true one hundred percent of the time. There is always an opposing opinion that can be argued against each thought. When you become mindful that your thoughts often create separation, scarcity or negativity you are on the road to healing.

As the screenwriter for an epic drama called “creating life”, whatever you are thinking during pregnancy creates the dialogue for the movie that will play for your baby. The DNA of a baby can be affected in the womb by choosing positive thoughts and creating uplifting emotions. Even if you are in negative or stressful circumstances during pregnancy you can choose to react to your environment differently. I will teach some ways to do this at the end of this chapter. By sending thoughts, messages and mental projections based on love rather than fear you can create a higher caliber child. If you want to create a family that is different, and a child that is genetically original, you need to begin to think and perceive the world differently.
